Brexit Talks Will Continue Over The Weekend
Brexit talks will continue over the weekend. Britain and the EU have not been able to reach an agreement yet.
Britain and the European Union (
EU) officials decided to resume bilateral trade talks this weekend, after both sides warned that they would pose a threat to trade deals.
EU's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, joined British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who said there were fundamental and important differences that need to be compromised. On the other hand, the British pound recorded its lowest against the euro this week.
Both sides insist that it is the duty of the other party to make a decisive move if an agreement is to be made. While Britain is less than a month away from the EU common market, no agreement has been reached yet. It is said that if no deal is made, millions of consumers and businesses will face additional costs from December 31st.
“The Chance of Agreement Depends on Our Friends and Partners in the EU ...”
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson used the following statements in the interview held on Friday:
“Everyone works hard. But it is clear that there are still fundamental and important differences to be compromised. The prospect of a deal depends greatly on our friends and partners in the EU. If they want it, a deal can be made.”
