Britain And EU Are Unlikely To Reach A Post-Brexit Trade Agreement By The Deadline
Britain and the European Union (EU) are unlikely to reach a post-Brexit trade agreement by the deadline, 15 November.
This was stated on Wednesday by sources from both sides, according to which negotiations on the settlement of disputes will continue in London until the end of this week.
The ambassadors of the 27 EU member states in
Brussels will not receive updated information about the negotiations at Wednesday's regular meeting, but it was not until November 18 that a high-ranking EU diplomat, who did not want to be named, indicated.
Other sources from the bloc also confirmed that both parties are trying to reach an agreement and expect that in the middle of next week, negotiators should come with an agreed text, unless the negotiations collapse or there is a break sooner.
"The real deadline is the end of next week," said one EU diplomat watching the Brexit talks.
Both European diplomats said the agenda could be updated at the last minute if they led to a breakthrough or collapse.
A source from
Britain also confirmed that the talks of the negotiating teams in London should last until the end of this week.
