With the regulation published by the
Ministry of Commerce in the Official Gazette dated 18.02.2022, the 'Price Label Regulation' was amended. In the change made, it was stated that in determining the sales price of the goods or services sold at a discount, the price before the discount,
tariffs, and price lists will be displayed on the label.
In the regulation, it was stated that the lowest price in the last 30 days will be taken as a basis in determining the price of the discounted goods before the discount, and it was stated that the discount rate and amount for products such as fruits and vegetables will be determined according to the price before the discount.
In the regulation published regarding the mentioned amendment, it is stated that "the sale price of the good or service subject to a discounted sale, the price before the discount, is shown on the
tariff and price lists and labels. In determining the sales price of the goods or services subject to the discount sale before the discount, it is applied within thirty days prior to the application date of the discount. The lowest price is taken as a basis. When calculating the discount amount or rate on the labels of perishable goods such as fruits and vegetables, the price preceding the discounted price is taken as a basis. The burden of proof regarding these matters lies with the seller or supplier."
