The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey published the
statistics of companies established and closed for January. Accordingly, the number of established companies increased by 16.6 percent in January compared to the previous month and reached 11,400. In the same period, the number of companies closed down decreased by 73 percent to 1,026.
Compared to the previous month, the number of closed companies decreased by 73 percent, the number of cooperatives closed by 75.6 percent, and the number of real person commercial enterprises closed by 13.5 percent.
High number of closures in cooperatives
In January 2022, the number of closed companies increased by 7.8 percent compared to January 2021, and the number of closed cooperatives increased by 933.3 percent. The number of closed real person commercial enterprises decreased by 15.2 percent.
It was noted that 301 of the companies and cooperatives that were closed in January were in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 182 were in the construction sector, and 152 were in the manufacturing sector. It was determined that 1096 of the closed real-person commercial enterprises operated in wholesale and retail trade, the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 404 in construction, and 300 in the manufacturing sector.
1,359 companies with foreign partners were established
Of the 1,359 foreign joint venture companies established last month, 86 have Iranian partners and 45 have Syrian partners.
78.1 percent of the total capital of the companies with foreign joint capital was formed by the share of foreign capital.
