Cigarette and electronics sales in chain markets will be limited. The Ministry of Commerce prepared the draft law.
According to the information obtained from Reuters, the regulation that will limit the sale of cigarettes, furniture and electronic products in some chain markets was presented to the industry.
According to the draft law prepared by the
Ministry of Commerce, it is aimed to conduct retail trade according to the conditions of competition, to protect the consumer and to grow the retail businesses in a balanced way. According to the information in the draft, products for this purpose, including cigarettes and appliances, cannot be sold in every chain store.
Some changes will be made in the products that may be subject to sale with the criteria of distance and population to shopping centers and chain markets.
Online sales and stores larger than 1,500 square meters will be excluded. The sale of tobacco products, furniture, mobile phones, electronics and appliances and cigarettes, will not be allowed in chain food stores. Chain stores will not open before 11:00 on Sundays.
The sales restrictions mentioned in the draft will be implemented within the scope of reducing the negative effects of chain stores on traditional retail businesses and providing protection to retailers.
After receiving the opinions of the sector, the regulation will be sent to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
