Construction output in both the euro area and the Union rose month on month in November
In November 2020, construction output in the euro area and throughout the European Union (EU) rose month on month and fell year on year.
This was stated by the European statistical office Eurostat.
According to Eurostat's flash estimate, seasonally adjusted construction output in November 2020 increased by 1.4% in the euro area and by 1.2% in the EU compared with October.
By way of illustration, construction output in the euro area remained stable in October and increased by 0.7% in the EU.
Year-on-year, construction output fell by 1.3% in the euro area and 1.1% in the EU in November 2020.
Among the EU Member States that sent Eurostat data for November, the largest month-on-month growth in construction output was recorded in
Slovenia (12.2%),
Hungary (12%) and Slovakia (7%). On the contrary, the largest decreases were reported by Romania (-4.9%), Spain (-1.4%) and Belgium (-0.9%).
Year-on-year, construction output fell sharply in November in Spain (-13.1%), Belgium (-9.3%) and Slovakia (-8.8%). The sharpest increases were recorded in Slovenia (18.4%), Romania (9.3%) and Hungary (5.1%).
