Day Ended With A Decrease In European Stock Markets

The day ended with a decrease in the European stock markets. Increasing concerns about inflation had a negative impact on the stock markets.

European stock markets closed the first trading day of the week with a decrease after rising inflation concerns in the markets. At the end of the day, the benchmark index Stoxx Europe 600 decreased by 0.49 percent to 446.76 points. In Germany, the DAX 30 index depreciated by 0.64 percent to 15,421.13 points, and in France, the CAC 40 index decreased by 0.57 percent to 6,447.17 points. In Italy, the FTSE MIB 30 index was constant at 25,170.55 points. Markets in the UK were closed today due to a public holiday. European markets turned their eyes to rising inflation concerns. Annual inflation in Germany, which was 2 percent in April, rose to 2.5 percent in May, the highest level since September 2011. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) raised its growth forecast for the global economy to 5.8 percent for 2021, which it announced in March as 5.6 percent, on the grounds that improvements were observed with the impact of vaccines and additional financial support.
