BIST 100 Index Closed The First Day Of The Week With A Fall
BIST 100 index closed the first day of the week with a fall. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 0.11 percent and ended the day with 1,420.49 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which recorded a decrease of 1.57 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 13 billion liras.
While the banking index depreciated by 0.05 percent at the close, the holding index also lost 0.79 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 5.52 percent, while the biggest decline was recorded on informatics with 1.96 percent.
According to the data announced by
the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), the Turkish economy grew by 7 percent in the first quarter of 2021. Economists' growth expectations for the first quarter had been 6.4 percent.
In addition, it was reminded that the markets in the USA and England are closed today due to public holidays.
It was stated that the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) will be followed in the country tomorrow, while the manufacturing industry PMI to be announced, inflation in the Eurozone and construction expenditures in the USA will be closely monitored abroad.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.390 is in the support position and the level of 1.440 stands out as resistance for the BIST 100 index.
