Defi Wallet Argent Received A $40 Million Investment
Argent announced that it has received a $40 million investment led by Skype and Fabric Ventures co-founder Jaan Tallinn's investment company Metaplanet.
Argent has received substantial investor support to support its range of events in the DeFi and web3 space. According to the latest information, leading names in the field such as Paradigm, Index Ventures and Creandum, as well as Starkware, Jump Crypto and Animoca Brands, contributed to the investment.
Speaking to The Block, CEO Itamar Lesuisse said, “
Argent is still finance-focused, but we want to play a big role in other dimensions of the
NFT space as well. So NFT is like gaming, virtual real estate… We want to be the de facto wallet for gaming.”
Argent, which started operations in 2017, launched a new version of its crypto wallet built on the Ethereum scaling solution zkSync in March in order to reduce Defi costs and minimize environmental impacts.
