Deliveries of Boeing aircraft fell last year, lagging significantly behind Airbus
The number of aircraft that the American company Boeing delivered to customers last year decreased compared to the previous year.
Last year, Boeing delivered 157 machines, while in 2019 its customers took over 380 aircraft.
Airbus, a European competitor to Boeing, sold 566 aircraft last year.
In December, Boeing delivered 39 machines to customers, including 28 Max aircraft, which were grounded for 21 months after accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia, in which a total of 346 people died.
In the final month of last year, the US aircraft manufacturer won 90 new orders. At the same time, however, the company's customers canceled orders for 105 Max machines. These were to be supplies to leasing companies, who feared that it would be difficult to find aircraft operators.
Boeing's orders for the full year 2020 fell to 184 from 246 in 2019.
