In a written statement on the subject, eBay stated that "eBay, which regularly reviews its global activities, took this difficult but strategic decision considering the ongoing competitive dynamics in the market" and stated that the closure of GittiGidiyor will not have a tangible impact on the second quarter or fiscal year balance sheet.
It has been learned that as of today, sellers will not be allowed to post new products at GittiGidiyor, which was opened in 2001, and that purchases will be terminated on July 18.
In the written statement made by Gittigidiyor, the following statements were included:
“Our platform, which will be open for shopping until July 18, 2022, has been closed to listing new products as of today (June 20, 2022). The 'My Account' section on the site will remain open until September 5 for unfinished transactions by all our buyers and sellers. Our customer service will continue to support our users until September 30."
