Economy Stagnation Warning from Bundesbank
Bundesbank, the Central Bank of the Federal Republic of Germany, made statements stating that the German economy is at risk of recession due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the ban on coal and oil imports from Russia.
In its monthly report, the Bundesbank stated that the ban on energy imports from Russia will trigger a sharp rise in prices then the deepest recession in recent years will be seen causing the economic stagnation.
In the statement, it was stated that the economic loss may be lower next year with the gradual compensation of energy deliveries from Russia, although the activity in 2024 may remain below the previous forecasts. In the statement, the fallowing information was recorded "In the severe crisis scenario, real GDP will shrink by approximately 2 percent compared to 2021 in the current year."
