El Salvador Expects 2.5 Million Bitcoin Users in First Year
El Salvador expects 2.5 million Bitcoin users in the first year. Less than a week until the country starts to use Bitcoin.
El Salvador, a Central American country, will enact the law that makes Bitcoin legal money, which it adopted in June in order to reduce the cost of funds sent to the country from abroad and to integrate into the world, as of September 7th.
El Salvador's Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya talked about what this law will bring to the country and said, " Bitcoin acceptance will be optional. Businesses that don't accept bitcoin will not be penalized. With the adoption of the law, we can attract 2.5 million Bitcoin users to the country in the first year."
ATMs Are Ready
In a situation where the IMF tightened the conditions for the new loan and the World Bank refused the request for help for Bitcoin adaptation, El Salvador placed hundreds of Bitcoin
ATMs in various regions shortly before September 7, ensuring that they were ready. In the country where the US dollar is the only official currency in the current situation, the ignorance of the public on this issue draws attention and the transition to Bitcoin is protested at certain times.
