Elon Musk, the CEO of electric car manufacturer Tesla and also the richest person in the world, continues to sell shares.
According to data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Elon Musk has sold an additional 934,090 shares. With this sale, Musk made a total of approximately $16.4 billion in sales.
He has been selling shares since Musk surveyed his Twitter followers in November on whether to sell 10 percent of his stake in the company. In his tweet last week, Musk stated that "total share sales are approaching almost 10 percent and the reduction of his shares is almost complete."
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Elon Musk's total wealth has increased 80 percent this year to $278.9 billion.
