Elon Musk's New Offer to Twitter
It was claimed that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, made a new offer for the social media giant Twitter, which he was a defendant, and did not change the price of $ 54.2 per share in his offer.
In Bloomberg's news based on unnamed sources, it was stated that successful businessman Elon Musk conveyed the offer to Twitter by letter. In the news, it was announced that Musk again gave a price of 54.2 dollars per share for Twitter.
With the news in question, Twitter's shares increased in value by up to 18 percent after being stopped for a short time. In addition, Elon Musk, who bought a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, recorded an offer of $ 54.2 per share for the entire Twitter in his notification to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 14.
In the note announced by Twitter on April 25, it was noted that the agreement to sell the company to Musk was reached. Musk announced on May 13 that the deal to buy social media company Twitter for about $ 44 billion was temporarily suspended.
In a post on his Twitter account regarding the reason for the suspension of the deal, Musk stated that
"the details of the calculations for spam and fake accounts to account for less than 5 percent of total users are expected". Musk's lawyers had noted in a notice to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that Twitter had failed or refused to respond to multiple requests for information about fake or spam accounts on the platform, which is important to the company's business performance.
Twitter sued Musk for terminating the agreement. Twitter's lawsuit against Musk was scheduled to be heard on October 17.
