Antalya-based SunExpress airline increased its capacity in October after September in order to meet the ongoing demand after the summer season. In this way, the company's additional capacity created after the summer reached the level of one thousand flights.
SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, announced that they have carried more than 8 million passengers with an occupancy rate of 86 percent since the beginning of 2022.
The company, which also operates scheduled and charter flights to Europe, announced that they increased capacity in October after September in order to meet the ongoing demand after the summer season. The additional capacity created after the summer reached one thousand flights.
It is estimated that the company will complete its 10 million passenger transportation target for 2022 before the end of the year.
Max Kownatzki, CEO of SunExpress, said:
"We have passed the busiest period of this summer without any cancellations on our flights due to the shortage of ground handling staff across Europe. We anticipate that travel demand will continue unabated in the winter season. We have planned additional flights from Europe to Turkey to meet the ongoing demand. We will continue to contribute to Turkey's target of 47 million tourists this year."
