American Retail Company Lowes Creates Metaverse
Lowes, an American retail company specializing in home improvement, stated that at the latest launch of Builder, they are working to expand their existing product line to the Lowes Metaverse.
The work is in the process of creating more than 500 3D assets representing products stocked by Lowes so that they can be reused in the Metaverse.
Lowes, the company specializing in home improvement, is opening its Metaverse portal to creators. Lowes Metaverse will offer a variety of Lowes products, including lighting, patio furniture, area rugs, kitchenware, bathroom accessories and decor accents.
Each asset will be delivered in USD and glTF formats. It will also allow the creators' assets to be used in popular Metavere environments for gaming, augmented reality and creative design.
Lowes' CIO Seemantini Godbole said:
“We think that this event is a natural extension of what we have already done in other channels. This new offering is designed to draw more attention to the Godbole team and the brand.
It will also give you the chance to tap into customers' creative inspiration to improve the customer and employee experience.
Our programs help us get an idea of what it will look like before and after. It's also simple to use, like in PowerPoint, where you can go in and drag and drop assets on the slide."
Lowes has home improvement projects such as designing a new kitchen, new paint and visualizing the floor appearance. It also has other applications for planning projects and collecting data about a home. Lowes also leverages digital possibilities to improve store planning and layout using interactive 3D programs.
