BIST 100 Index Closed Wednesday With An Increase
BIST 100 index closed Wednesday with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2.042.70 points, gaining 1.56 percent value.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 31.35 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 38.7 billion liras.
While the banking index gained 2.68 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 2.80 percent. Among the sector indices, construction was the highest earner with 5.03 percent, while the most decline was recorded on mining with 1.76 percent.
Analysts said that the Russia-Ukraine war continues to be the main risk factor in global stock markets, but the news flow that diplomacy between the two countries may increase supports the stock markets.
Stating that the course of commodity prices, especially oil, is closely watched by investors, analysts said that the European Central Bank's (ECB) interest rate decision will be monitored closely tomorrow.
Stating that the
ECB is not expected to change the policy rate, analysts said that the expectations are that the bank will increase interest rates by 1 this year. Expectations were previously that the ECB would raise interest rates twice this year.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1,950 is in a position of support and the level of 2,090 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
