BIST 100 Index Made Its Highest Weekly Close
BIST 100 index made its highest weekly close. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul completed the day at 2,144.26 points with 0.50 percent gain.
At the end of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 10.68 points compared to the previous close, recorded a total transaction volume of 26.8 billion TL.
At the closing, the banking index gained 0.06 percent, while the holding index gained 0.63 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest earning was recorded as construction with 5.58 percent, and the most decline was recorded on tourism with 3.64 percent.
BIST 30 index also closed the day with an increase of 0.21% at 2,404.04 points and broke the weekly closing record.
The Russian Central Bank kept the policy rate unchanged at 20 percent, as expected. In the statement made by the bank, it was stated that it was decided to keep the policy rate constant due to the expectations that inflation would continue to increase and the "new period" in the economy. Pointing out that the Russian economy will shrink in the coming quarters.
Stating that the statements of the US Central Bank (
Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell and European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde will be at the center of the markets, analysts stated that the summary of the Monetary Policy Committee meeting to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) will be monitored closely.
It was stated that the level of 2.170 is in a position of resistance and the level of 2.090 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
