BIST 100 Index Started the Day with a Record

BIST 100 index started the day with a record. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 2,132.96 points with an increase of 1.50 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 31.44 points and 1.50 percent compared to the previous close, rose to an all-time high with 2,132.96 points. While the banking index gained 0.50 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 1.45 percent. Among the sector indices, the metal industry was the biggest earner with 3.43 percent, while the only decline was recorded on sports with 2.33 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 3.24 percent, closing the highest of all time with 2,101.51 points. Analysts stated that the concerns about inflationary pressures and the Omicron variant remained on the agenda, adding that the declining risk appetite before the central banks' decisions led to decreases in global stock markets, while domestic markets were positively differentiated. It was stated that today, housing sales statistics in the country, PPI in the USA, industrial production in the Eurozone and unemployment rate in the UK will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 2,200 is in a position of resistance and the level of 2.030 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
