BIST 100 Started Tuesday With A Decline
BIST 100 index started Tuesday with a decline. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,803.91 points with 0.27 percent gain.
At the beginning of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which lost value by 4.89 points and 0.27 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,803.91 points.
While the banking index depreciated by 0.44 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.52 percent. Among the sector indices, mining was the highest earner with 1.55 percent, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 1.66%.
Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul followed a positive course and closed the day at 1,808.79 points with an increase of 1.82 percent.
Analysts stated that the concerns that the Omicron variant, which currently causes travel restrictions, may bring about possible closures, increase the risks regarding the global economy, and on the other hand, different explanations about the effect of existing vaccines on the new variant also caused volatility in the markets.
Analysts said that
Fed Chairman Jerome Powell will warn Congress about the recent increase in coronavirus cases and the emergence of the Omicron variant, which pose downside risks to employment and economic activity, and increase uncertainty regarding inflation, in his presentation to the US Senate today. Analysts noted that developments on the subject will remain on the agenda.
Analysts reminded that the growth in the country, unemployment in Germany, inflation in the Eurozone and consumer confidence index in the USA will be monitored closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.830 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.730 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
