BIST 100 Started Wednesday With A Decrease

BIST 100 index started Wednesday with a decrease. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,847.29 points with a decrease of 0.17 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which lost value by 3.20 points and 0.17 percent compared to the previous close, fell to 1,847.29 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.74 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.24 percent. Among the sector indices, informatics was the highest earner with 0.58 percent, while the highest decline was recorded on transportation with 1.49 percent. The BIST 100 index, which lost 2.46 percent yesterday, with the sales increasing its effect especially in bank shares in Borsa Istanbul, closed the day at 1,850.48 points. Analysts stated that the concern that the increased restrictions due to the Omicron variant in the coronavirus epidemic may adversely affect the economic activity, put pressure on the stock markets. It was stated that today, the monetary and exchange rate policy text of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) for 2022, wholesale and retail stocks and pending housing sales data in the USA will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.940 is in a position of resistance, and the levels of 1.840 and 1.790 are in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
