Stuart Rowley, President of Ford Motor Europe, said in a statement to reporters that Ford preferred Valencia for electric vehicle production in Europe.
Stating that they need less manpower in electric vehicle production compared to other productions, President Stuart Rowley stated that many employees will be laid off in their operations in Germany and Spain.
Rowley announced that Ford Motor Company will produce the Focus model in Germany for 3 more years.
In the statement made by Ford, it was noted that Ford continues to transform the production of electric vehicles to 2 billion dollars in Cologne, Germany, and that the operation will begin in 2023 for vehicle production.
According to the company's 4-year targets until 2026, 600,000 electric vehicles will be sold annually in Europe.
