Commenting on the grain corridor, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "As a result, at the technical meeting held in Istanbul last week, an agreement was reached on the outlines of the process within the framework of the UN plan. We hope that the plan will start to be implemented in the coming days. At the moment, our role is that of a host. We have been working intensively on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea for a long time."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered the questions at the press conference organized on his return from his visit to Iran.
"I have repeatedly discussed the issue with Putin and Zelenskiy. Our Ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Defense also held talks with their counterparts. As a result, at the technical meeting held in Istanbul last week, an agreement was reached on the outlines of the process within the framework of the UN plan. We now want to put this agreement into a written text this week. We hope to start implementing the plan in the coming days.
Stating that the process will be carried out from a coordination center to be established in Istanbul, President Erdoğan said, "In addition to our country, there will be officials from Russia, Ukraine and the UN. Our country, which has the trust of all relevant parties, will make the necessary coordination for the healthy execution of the process with an inter-institutional approach. Our intensive efforts continue to finalize this sensitive process, which is critical for global food security."
Referring to the F-16 issue, Erdoğan said, "When we discussed these issues with Mr. Biden, Biden did not impose such a Greek condition on us. On the contrary, in our long meeting, we talked about the fact that as NATO member countries, we should protect each other's law. He also said, "I will make every effort I can" about the F16s.
