Istanbul's biggest urban transformation begins. Minister Kurum announced the details.

Environment and Urban Planning Minister Murat Kurum said that no matter how risky buildings exist in Istanbul, they want to transform them. Minister Kurum stated that their goal is to transform 300 thousand residential buildings with 1.5 million emergency priority every year, to carry out actions, to produce works, to make a policy of work.

Stating that they will launch one of the biggest urban transformation projects in Istanbul in Üsküdar, the Minister Kurum said: "As of Monday, We are starting a very important urban transformation project in Ferah Neighborhood in Üsküdar, the neighborhood just opposite Çamlıca Mosque, again in Üsküdar neighborhood, where citizens cannot meet their social needs at this point, the roads and infrastructure are not sufficient, in Mehmet Akif Ersoy Neighborhood and in neighborhood of Kupluce, which is also on right, on an area of ​​140 thousand square meters, and perhaps one of the biggest urban transformation projects in Istanbul.” Stating that urban transformation projects have been carried out in almost every district of Istanbul, Kurum said that there are 117 thousand urban transformation projects currently ongoing in the field. Kurum, who examined the urban transformation area in Istanbul Kirazlıtepe, explained that the auction process has come to an end in the project of 2 thousand residences. Minister Kurum noted the following: “We started a very important urban transformation process in Kirazlıtepe District. In this framework, we carried out the tender process of a project of 2 thousand residences. We will have made the auction of our last stage as of Monday. In first stages, our residences will not exceed the ground floor plus 3-4 floors, we will be delivering a project where the neighborhood culture will be kept alive, we will unite with all the regulation areas on Camlıca Hill, and the neighborhood relations will continue, as of August, we will deliver. In other stages, we will make auctions, and with the same understanding, we will be doing projects with the same quality, and we will be building and delivering residences to our citizens in a total area of 180 thousand square meters with a total of 2 thousand residences in Kirazlıtepe, 1500 of which are for eligible citizens and the others are for commercial zones.”
