Shares of Tesla fell in trading before markets opened after
Elon Musk said on Twitter that they had not signed a contract with Hertz yet.
In his reply to a post that referred to him, Musk noted that no contract has yet been signed for a $4.2 billion deal for the 100,000 Model 3 Sedan, which Hertz announced last week.
After this post, Tesla shares fell 6.9 percent in transactions before the markets opened.
Shares of
Tesla gained more than 10 percent after Hertz's decision to invest in its electric vehicle rental service. The market value of Tesla, whose share value approached $ 1000, reached $ 1 trillion for the first time.
Hertz, one of the US car rental companies, announced that it has ordered 100,000 Tesla vehicles by the end of 2022 to expand its electric vehicle fleet.
Stating that its customers will be able to rent Tesla Model 3 vehicles in major markets in the USA and certain cities in Europe as of November, Hertz stated that the company will also establish a new electric vehicle charging infrastructure in its global operations.
