NFT Searches on Google Reached Record Highs
Searches for “NFT” on Google reached record highs and surpassed Dogecoin, blockchain and even Ethereum.
Google's keyword search data shows that interest in NFTs is at record highs. According to Google Trends, interest in NFTs saw a dramatic increase at the start of the year, with Dapper Labs' NBA Top Shot and legacy Ethereum-based NFTs becoming popular.
While this interest seemed short-lived at first, it started to pick up in July and reached new highs at the end of October. Since then, Google search traffic for NFT-related keywords has continued to rise and has doubled in the past three months.
This spike has caused “NFT” to overtake many keywords that have long had crypto-related search traffic, including “DeFi,” “Ethereum,” and even “blockchain.”
NFT Madness In Asia
According to Google Trends,
NFT search traffic is currently mostly driven by Asian countries, with China, Uganda, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines top the search rankings.
China's "NFT" search volume peaked between September 5 and September 11 of this year. A month before the spike, Chinese tech giant Tencent launched its NFT trading platform Huanhe, and Alibaba launched a marketplace that allows users to trade licenses to create NFTs from copyrighted content.
