Tech Mahindra CEO Gurnani spoke about the need to focus on the development of quantum computing, informing PTI that the industry is exploring the data explosion with growth in cloud computing, data centers and 5G driving change in the current computing system. Gurnani noted that the foundations of quantum computing are based on quantum physics. He also commented that quantum physics clearly shows that there is always an inflection point, after which existing hardware or quantitative developers can suddenly make a difference. Gurnani explained that his only personal belief is the 'future of pressure' on systems due to the explosion of data.
Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University, said that one of the best things about the initiative is that it is an academia-industry collaboration. Medury said that they have many faculties in quantum physics, artificial intelligence and similar fields. However, he said, this is work that is being channeled to the forefront of industry-focused fields. "On quantum computing and 5G, our faculty is working with Tech Mahindra," he explained.
As part of the partnership, Mahindra University students will have the opportunity to work on intellectual property made in the Makers Lab and take part in R&D projects on campus. Students will also have access to projects and internship opportunities. In this context, they will collaborate with coding groups such as 'Engima' within the university. Nikhil Malhotra, Global Head of Tech Mahindra from Makers Lab, made a statement on this subject. He stated that quantum calculations are at a very new stage. He also said that a lot of complex structures are being examined.
Malhotra stated that Makers Lab will focus on the impact of quantum on image optimization for satellites. He also announced that work on explainable AI (artificial intelligence) will deepen in collaboration with Mahindra University. Within the scope of the cooperation, it is desired to take this forward. In addition, with the new cooperation, the world of AI and Metaverse will be thoroughly explored. Improvements will be made with the results.
