EPDK Made a Statement on Electricity Bills
EPDK made a statement on electricity bills. It has been reported that it is not possible to reflect the representation and entertainment expenses to the invoices.
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) announced that the news that the representation and hospitality expenses of electricity distribution companies, which created a great debate among the public, are reflected in the electricity bills are misleading.
Stating that the aforementioned expenses were also included before privatization,
EPDK said that a ceiling and limit was brought to these expenses with an arrangement made before. The institution emphasized that the claim that the expenses are reflected on the consumer but the revenues are left to the company is not true.
In its statement regarding the said news, EPDK used the following statements:
"The expenses in question are evaluated differently from the expenses such as personnel, maintenance and repair, index reading, cutting and binding, IT, materials, general management expenses, etc.
Advertisement expenses are official postings related to the activity, they do not include postings for advertising purposes. Companies engaged in such a large and consumer-friendly activity should inform the consumer and make advertisements as a natural consequence of their activities. "
