EU and ASEAN Will Sign Aviation Agreement
EU and ASEAN will sign aviation agreement. Negotiations for the world's first inter-block aviation agreement are over.
In the joint statement made by the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), it was announced that the negotiations for the Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement between the parties ended.
In the joint statement, it was stated that the aviation agreement called "AE CATA" will support the connection and economic development between 37 EU and
ASEAN member countries.
Pointing out that the agreement in question is the first
aviation agreement made between two blocs in the world, it was stated that ASEAN and EU airlines will have more opportunities in passenger and cargo services between both regions and abroad.
Pointing out that with this agreement, ASEAN and EU airlines will be able to operate many reciprocal flights between the two regions, it was also noted that the airlines can organize many cargo flights to third countries with 14 passenger flights per week.
After this stage, the legal text of the aforementioned aviation agreement will be prepared and ready to be signed.
