EU Has Lifted The Travel Restriction for US Residents
The EU has lifted the travel restriction for US residents. The EU has taken another step towards normalization.
EU countries offered travel permits by putting the USA on the “white list” along with Albania, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Macau, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia and Taiwan, as of June 18. The decision was taken a few days after it was published in the EU Official Journal. It is expected to take effect within days.
It is said that EU (European Union) officials had to take new steps before the summer season due to pressure from countries whose economy is dependent on tourism. It is stated that the decision in question will also be a great opportunity for EU airline companies, which are severely affected by the
restrictions brought by the coronavirus epidemic.
Although some
EU (European Union) member states currently allow vaccinated US citizens to visit their countries, with the inclusion of the US in the "white list", it has been decided that Americans can travel to all EU member states regardless of their vaccination status.
According to diplomats with knowledge of the subject, who spoke to Bloomberg, it was stated that EU officials tried to persuade the Joe Biden administration to similarly lift travel restrictions.
