Italiana. Euronet will make an offer to buy the Borsa Italiana.
According to the information obtained with the
offer, it is estimated that the company owned by London Stock Exchange Group will be priced between 3.5 billion euros and 4 billion euros.
Euronext agreed to joint bidding with the Italian Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA. In the event of the acquisition, the bank will own 8 percent of Euronext.
In addition, Deutsche Boerse AG, one of the rival stock exchange companies, is also preparing to submit an offer to Borsa Italiana. According to some sources there may be other companies considering bidding for the company.
Borsa Italiana is seen as important and strategic as it has the MTS SpA platform where government bonds are traded. In addition to these, the Milan-based bank Intesa Sanpaolo SpA can also participate in Euronext's offer.
