European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to Focus on Smart Grid Investments in Turkey
"There is good potential for smart grid investments in Turkey and these investments can be realized easily," said Nandita Parshad, Director of the EBRD Sustainable Infrastructure Group.

In 2020 we will focus more on smart grid investments and electricity distribution companies." quoth.
The EBRD's total investments in Turkey reached 12 billion euros, Parshad said.
Parshad stated that they provided the establishment of 3 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity in the energy sector, which constitutes the important part of their investments, "last year we maintained our leading position in Turkey with a total investment of over 1 billion euros. Sustainability and renewable energy investments accounted for nearly half of our investments last year., "he said.
Parshad pointed out that the EBRD's investment budget can vary according to demands.:
"I can say that we want to achieve at least 1 billion euros in our investments this year. In 2020 we will focus more on smart grid investments and electricity distribution companies. We think there needs to be more investment in smart grids. There is good potential for smart grid investments in Turkey and these investments can be realized easily. On the other hand, smart grids are crucial to achieving energy efficiency and emissions targets. The regulatory body needs to put more emphasis on this area and encourage distribution companies to do so."
