According to the data of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICC), retail prices increased by 1.13 percent and wholesale prices by 1.74 percent in Istanbul compared to the previous month.
ICC announced its February 2020 price indexes.
Accordingly, in Istanbul, the Istanbul Wage Earning Index, which is the indicator of retail price movements, increased by 1.13 percent compared to the previous month, and the Wholesale Price Index, which reflects wholesale price movements, rose by 1.74 percent.
The rate of increase compared to the same month of the previous year was 12.95 percent in ICC's 1995 Wage earning index and 8.76 percent in the Wholesale Price Index.
CHANGES IN THE SECTORAL BASIS
In February 2020, retail prices were 9.80 percent in transportation and communication expenditures, 3.71 percent in other expenditures group, 2.23 percent in health and personal care expenditures, 1.95 percent in culture, education and entertainment expenditures, home in the previous month. 1.05 percent in food expenditures, 0.84 percent in food expenditures, 0.43 percent in clothing expenditures and 0.28 percent in housing expenditures.
In wholesale prices, compared to the previous month in February, 3.29 percent in the raw materials group, 2.19 percent in the foodstuffs group, 1.31 percent in the construction materials group, 0.30 percent in the chemical goods group, 0.15 percent in the fuels and energy items group. , 0.09 percent increase in the textile group and 0.17 percent decrease in the mining group.
