European stock markets started October with losses. European stock markets lost more than 1 percent on the first trading day of October.
Stock markets started the new month with depreciation due to rising inflation and slowing growth concerns in the global economy.
The indicator Stoxx Europe 600 index fell 1.3 percent. Banks and automakers led the decline. The
DAX index in Germany and the FTSE MIB index in Italy are down more than 1 percent. Losses in the CAC 40 index in France and the FTSE 100 index in the UK also approached 1 percent.
Concerns about the rise in energy prices also play a major role in the decline.
The Stoxx 600
index closed the month with a 3.4 percent decline.
Asian stock markets also fell sharply today. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index fell more than 2.5 percent, leading the losses.
Yesterday, the S&P 500 index in the US also showed the biggest drop since March 2020.
