'Export' Statement by Treasury and Finance Minister Nebati
Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati, while noting that they reached the highest export figures in monthly data in 2022, said:
"These records we broke in exports, one of the most important components of our Turkey Economy Model, indicate that our economy is progressing on solid foundations."
In his post on his official Twitter account, Minister Nebati made statements about the foreign trade data for June:
"Our exports, which reached 242.6 billion dollars as of May, continue to increase in June according to the provisional data announced by the Ministry of Trade. In June 2022, our exports increased by 18.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 23.4 billion dollars. Thus, the first half of 2022 saw the highest export figures of all time on a monthly basis.
These records in exports, one of the most important components of our Turkish Economic Model, indicate that our economy is progressing on solid foundations. With the normalization in global energy prices in the coming period, this high performance of exports shows that we will see the improvement in the current account balance that we target.''
