Facebook and Twitter Concerned About the Election
Facebook and Twitter concerned about the election. Two social media giants are worried about the US presidential election.
The US presidential election, which will take place on November 3, is in a 'confusing' position for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg is caught in a dilemma over the lack of transparent information about the
elections and is worried that the election night could be violent.
Facebook CEO Zuckerberg said in an interview with Axios last month:
“Unfortunately, there is a high probability that social events will occur during the voting or when the results are announced.”
Then Zuckerberg continues:
“I think we should do our best to prevent social events that may occur right after the election.”
The Concern that Elections May Cause Protests Prevails
As the presidential election approaches in the US, social media giants are even more worried that their platforms will suffer disinformation and that this will lead to intervention. Accordingly, two social media giants Facebook and Twitter have revised their policies or added new policies in order to manage the situation in case of a possible chaos that may occur on the election night in the past two months.
In the chaos that may arise when the official results are announced on the night of the elections on the night of November 3, companies are confused by the concern that people may be misled.
Some observers also seem worried that if transparent information is not provided on the election night, this may invite riots and demonstrations.
