FBI Detects That Russia and Iran Intervened in the US Elections
The FBI detects that Russia and Iran intervened in the US
elections. In the statement made by
FBI Director Chris Wray and DNI Director John Ratcliffe, there were statements that they determined that Russia and Iran were trying to intervene in the Presidential elections to be held on 3 November.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National Intelligence Directorate (DNI) announced that Russia and Iran were trying to intervene in the presidential elections to be held in the US on November 3 and it was determined that the information of some voters was obtained.
Speaking, Ratcliffe said, "We found that two foreign actors, Iran and Russia, have taken some steps to influence public opinion about our elections."
Stating that they started working on the subject, Ratcliffe said, "We will never tolerate foreign intervention in our choices."
Noting that they determined that Iran and Russia had seized the information of some voters, Ratcliffe said, "We have seen Iran throwing e-mails aimed at harming President Donald Trump and intimidating voters."
Noting that Iran and Russia may have malicious intent in capturing voter information, Ratcliffe said, "These data can be used by foreign actors to spread false information to registered voters, causing confusion, chaos and a lack of trust in American democracy."
"You can be sure that your votes are included in the count," said
FBI Director Wray.
