Goldman Sachs! The Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong's financial regulator, fined Goldman Sachs.
According to the statement made today from Hong Kong, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) fined Goldman Sachs 350 million dollars on the grounds that there are serious problems with the legislation in 1MDB's bond issues.
The statement in question included the following statements:
“Staff at Goldman Sachs Asia did not maintain adequate control to monitor and detect flawed practices in day-to-day operations, and allowed 1MDB to proceed without careful scrutiny and satisfactory responses for multiple red flags in bond issues.”
Ashley Alder, the CEO of SFC, stressed that
Goldman Sachs was not dealing properly with many questionable situations related to 1MDB bond issues.
