US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell stated that they continue to deal with a number of unusual economic disruptions. Chairman Powell underlined that they are determined to use their tools as policymakers.

In a short speech at the opening of the meeting, the Fed Chairman stated that the economy is going through a uniquely challenging period and that they are determined to use their tools as policymakers.
"We continue to deal with a number of unusual economic disruptions," said Powell, who did not comment on monetary policy in his speech.
