According to YLE, Prime Minister Marin made statements on her country's NATO accession process during a program on YLE TV1 television. Stating that it is impossible to predict when Turkey and Hungary will approve his country's NATO membership, Marin said, "Of course, we hope that things will progress quickly in this regard."
Marin also commented on the options for the deployment of NATO bases and nuclear weapons on the country's territory.
"When it comes to permanent bases or nuclear weapons, I think it is very important that we do not set such preconditions or limit our room for maneuver," Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said, adding that she believes it is unlikely that nuclear weapons will be deployed on Finnish territory.
