The Republic of Turkey has lost its former Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz at the age of 73. Yilmaz, had been treated in intensive care for a long time due to the lung cancer he struggled with.
In the routine health check that Mesut Yılmaz had in January 2019, a tumor was detected in his lung. As a result of the operation performed on January 23, 2019, the cancerous tumor was cleared.
Mesut Yılmaz, whose brain stem tumor was detected this time in May 2020, was being treated in intensive care after the difficult surgery.
Mesut Yılmaz, who was born in 1947, served as prime minister and different ministry three times for 2 years between 1991-1999. Yılmaz had been the Chairman of the Anavatan Party for 11 years.
