French economy grew 18.2 in the third quarter. This growth exceeded the median expectations of economists.
France grew by 18.2 percent in the third quarter, exceeding expectations. According to the square expectations of 29 economists who participated in the survey prepared by
Bloomberg, the growth was expected to be 15 percent.
The lowest quarterly growth forecast reported by economists was 6.9 percent, while the highest growth forecast was recorded at 17.8 percent. Accordingly, the third quarter growth data of France has passed its highest forecast.
France's economy contracted 13.8 percent on a quarterly basis in the second quarter, and shrunk by 18.9 percent on an annual basis.
Annual growth expectations for the French economy were that the economy would shrink 7.3 percent in this quarter compared to the same quarter of 2019, but the annual growth was recorded as a good 4.3 percent shrinkage from the forecasts.
