Giant Innovation from Europe; "There Will Be No Vehicle Without Alcohol Meter"
The European Parliament is taking a big step to minimize traffic accidents. With this decision taken with the aim of reducing the deaths caused by accidents to zero, it will be mandatory to have a breathalyzer in all new vehicles to be produced in the European Union (EU) countries as of July.
The European Parliament is signing new resolutions within the scope of the goal of reducing deaths in traffic accidents in EU countries to zero by 2050. A number of systems that will ensure vehicle safety, such as a breathalyzer with the technology of blocking the car, will be activated. The General Directorate of Traffic in Spain noted that technological innovations that increase the safety of both the driver and passengers will be mandatory for all new vehicles produced as of July.
If the driver of the vehicle is drunk, the car will not start.
Although the use of breathalyzer with an engine blocking system comes to the fore in new production vehicles, emergency brake support system, rear seat belt warning, smart cruise control, rear camera with cross traffic detection, warning systems against unintentional or fatigued lane changes will also be made mandatory in production.
With the system called Alcolock, since the driver will have to measure the alcohol level in the blood by blowing into the alcohol meter before starting the vehicle, the system will not allow the engine to start if the alcohol level is higher than the allowable result within 25 seconds.
