Russia-Ukraine war increased energy costs, inflation skyrocketed in Greece. According to April data, inflation rose to 10.2 percent.
Thus, after 27 years, inflation reached double digits in the country.
EU-compliant CPI, on the other hand, rose from 8 percent to 9.1 percent. Like many other countries in Europe, Greece has announced fiscal packages on electricity and gas bills to support households and businesses due to rising living costs.
Natural gas prices in the country increased by 122.6 percent and electricity prices increased by 88.8 percent annually.
