Historical aid calls were made from the UN for low-income countries trying to combat the new type of coronavirus (covid-19) outbreak!
The United Nations (UN) has called for the biggest aid in history, with a $ 10.3 billion demand for countries that have failed to tackle the epidemic.
The UN said the epidemic that affected the world and caused a global economic crisis would starve 265 million people by the end of the year. Aiming to reach 250 million people in 63 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, the UN requested support from high-income countries.
Making a statement on the subject, UN Deputy Secretary General for Human Affairs Mark Lowcock made predictions that concern all people.
Seeking urgent support from G20 countries, Mark Lowcock stressed that otherwise humanitarian tragedies would reach devastating dimensions due to the outbreak.
There is Death Risk of 6 Thousand Children per Day
Lowcock said that the epidemic caused many preventable diseases, directly and indirectly, that 6,000 children could die a day due to these diseases.
The UN first called for $ 2 billion in aid for 40 countries in March. Increasing its call for aid countries to $ 6.7 billion in May, the UN has only raised $ 1.64 billion so far.
