global chip crisis.
Automaker Honda announced that it will temporarily suspend production at its facilities in Japan due to problems in the supply of chips used in engine and brake systems.
According to the news of the Kyodo agency, automakers continue to have supply problems after the increasing chip demand for smartphones and 5G network equipment.
Due to these problems, automotive giant Honda will halt production at its facilities in Mie province, located in the southwest of the country, on August 2-6. The production gap will be closed during the holiday period in September.
According to the Kyodo agency, the Japanese automaker manufactures 2,000 vehicles per day in Mie province, including N-Box mini vehicles and the compact segment Fit model.
