The BIST 100 index, which is used to measure the performance of the 100 highest stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul in terms of market and trading volume, closed last week at 3,878.98 points with a loss of 1.41%. In this respect, the BIST 100 index interrupted its 3-week rise.
Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index started the new week at 3,902.86 points with an increase of 0.62%. After the opening, the index moved horizontally in the first minutes.
In terms of sectors, sports, tourism and food sectors started this week with a 2% rise. While there were no negative sectors at the opening, simple metals, information technology and technology index were recorded as the least demanded sectors.
Banks started slightly positive, up 0.3%, while the holding index was up 0.6% at the open. The industrial and SME index also started the day with a 1% rise.
On Monday, October 31, Pınar Meat, Tugcelik and Naturelgaz started the week with a rise of 9%.
Tat Gıda, Mahzar Zorlu Holding and Doğan Burda were among the stocks that started the day with the highest losses.
Among the stocks included in the BIST 100 index, Yayla Agro, Smart Güneş and Türk Traktör were in the lead with value increases of more than 5%. Verusa Holding, İş REIT and Vestel were among the stocks that started the week on the downside.
US stock markets closed the last day of last week in positive territory. Nasdaq rose by 2.87%, S&P 500 by 2.46% and Dow Jones by 2.59%.
