IEA President Fatih Birol: ''Energy Crisis Will Grow Even Greater''
International Energy Agency (IEA) President Fatih Birol made statements about the energy crisis. Stating that the worst is yet to come for the energy crisis, Birol noted that price increases and energy supply disruptions may increase further.
Addressing important points at the meeting held in Sydney, Fatih Birol, President of the International Energy Agency, noted that the world has never seen an energy crisis of this magnitude and complexity before.
Emphasizing that this winter will be very, very difficult in Europe, Birol said,
"This is an important concern that could have serious effects on the world economy."
Fatih Birol, President of the International Energy Agency (IEA), noted that the oil crisis in the 1970s opened the door to important innovations in terms of energy and fuel efficiency, and underlined that
"the process that started with Russia's invasion of Ukraine could have a similar impact on the speed of governments' transition to renewable energy."
