The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that it will urgently lend aid to 25 member countries.
International Monetary Fund (IMF) President Kristalina Georgieva has announced that she will urgently lend aid to 25 countries that are members of the Disaster Impact Limitation and Debt Mitigation Fund (CCRT) to support countries in the global war against the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
As a result of efforts to support the fight against the global losses of the coronavirus outbreak, the IMF will receive urgent debt relief to 25 member countries, said Georgieva.
Georgieva stated that the total amount of aid to the 25 member states within the Limitation of Disaster Effects and Debt Mitigation Fund is 500 million dollars.
In the announcement, Afghanistan, Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Tajikistan, Togo, and Yemen have been announced.
